As we enjoy the final days of summer, the excitement starts to build as we begin counting down to opening day of the 2020/21 Winter Season. Like you, I am excited for the snow to fall and for a fantastic winter season ahead. Early winter forecasts are looking very positive for us on the North Shore and we can’t wait to be out enjoying the slopes again.
This season, more than ever it will be important for us to get out, be active and safely enjoy our fresh air and mountaintop activities. We’re incredibly lucky to have such amazing winter recreation opportunities, right in our own backyard.
Since our reopening in June we’ve had incredibly positive feedback from our guests and Passholders on our new
PureClean health and safety protocols. We’ve taken measures to manage capacity at the Mountain, maintain physical distancing and increase our already high standards of cleanliness while still providing exciting activities, outdoor recreation and dining opportunities. We’ve had some great learnings and are focused on translating our success through the summer into the upcoming winter season.
With this in mind, you can expect to see a few changes to our winter operations, keeping the health and safety of our Passholders, guests and team members as our highest priority.
- Reservations will be required for uphill and downhill travel on the Skyride.
- Passholders will be able to reserve boarding times up to seven days in advance using our new online Skyride Reservation System.
- Skyride capacity will be reduced to less than 50% and new boarding procedures will be in place.
- Non-medical masks or face coverings will be mandatory for everyone throughout the Resort including while queuing, loading and riding on the Skyride and chairlifts, inside all buildings and during all ski and snowboard lessons.
- Physical distancing measures and signage will be in place through the Resort.
- Hand sanitizer stations are available throughout the Resort.
- Increased sanitization and scheduled cleanings will be conducted throughout all areas of the Resort.
With these measures in place we are confident that we can continue to provide you with the best in local snow sports for another amazing winter season at the Peak of Vancouver. We’re excited to welcome you back and I look forward to seeing you on the slopes!
Sincerely,
Michael Cameron
