Believe Again at Grouse Mountain’s Peak of Christmas
Celebrate the holiday season at Vancouver’s North Pole
November 22, 2016
(North Vancouver) Celebrate the magic of the holidays at Grouse Mountain’s annual Peak of Christmas, beginning Friday, November 25th. The elves have been hard at work transforming the mountaintop into a magical winter wonderland, ready for the highly-anticipated arrival of Santa Claus and his reindeer at Vancouver’s North Pole.
“We are excited to welcome visitors of all ages to Vancouver’s North Pole for our Peak of Christmas celebration,” said Grouse Mountain’s Communications Manager, Julia Grant. “Whether it’s a visit with Santa and his reindeer, a stroll along our enchanting Light Walk or watching a Christmas movie in the Theatre in the Sky, there’s opportunity for everyone to take part in the magic of the holiday season.”
Following last winter’s debut, Grouse Mountain’s popular Light Walk has been enhanced for the upcoming winter. Visitors will marvel at new light installations as they walk or snowshoe around Blue Grouse Lake. A 23 ft. deer, light walls and hoop fixtures add to the magic of this stunning experience.
For more outdoor fun, guests can take a spin on Grouse Mountain’s 8,000-square foot outdoor ice skating pond surrounded by trees and adorned with glimmering lights. With some additional snowfall, guests will be able to enjoy the multi-lane groomed Sliding Zone, the perfect activity for the child in all of us!
At Santa’s Workshop, believers young and old can share their special Christmas wishes and take a photo. Visits are by donation with all proceeds raised going towards the British Columbia SOS Children’s Village, a long-time Grouse Mountain charitable partner that provides care for children in need.
The elves have also been busy decorating in the Peak Chalet, which will feature an enchanting Gingerbread Village. Guests are encouraged to vote for their favourite Gingerbread Village creation to select a grand prize winner, with funds raised also benefiting SOS Children’s Village.
An annual favourite, the Breakfast with Santa program runs from Saturday, December 3rd through Saturday, December 24th. Back for another season, The Observatory’s popular Christmas Lunch also returns on weekdays from December 5th to 23rd.
