The sun was out, the barbecue was grilling and the view was a knockout to welcome Virgin Atlantic staff and over 30 U.K. press to the Timber Room for a private function this past Saturday. Grouse Mountain was pleased to pay host to this well-travelled group to help celebrate the inaugural Virgin Atlantic flight from London to Vancouver which landed at YVR on May 24.
Everyone on the guest list had the chance to familiarize themselves with the Peak of Vancouver before lunch by enjoying helicopter tours provided by Blackcomb Aviation, mountaintop zip lining, the Eye of the Wind as well as the chance to take in our World Famous Lumberjack Show. A couple of the guests even decided to test their fitness on the Grouse Grind rather than jumping aboard the Skyride!
After a morning full of truly Canadian experiences guests sat back in the sunshine to socialize, sip wine, work on their tans and indulge in a tasty bbq complete with flat iron steaks and corn on the cob. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday afternoon in Vancouver! We hope to welcome even more Virgin Atlantic passengers to Grouse Mountain this summer as their service from London continues through until October.
