(North Vancouver) Just in time for the weekend, Grouse Mountain is pleased to announce that as per Metro Vancouver, the Grouse Grind will open for the 2015 hiking season on Friday, May 8th from 6:15 am until 7:00 pm.
“With summer just around the corner, we are very excited that the iconic Grouse Grind trail will open for the season,” said Grouse Mountain general manager Michael Cameron. “As Vancouverites’ favourite destination for outdoor fitness, we cannot wait to begin another exciting season of fundraising and achievement on ‘Mother Nature’s Stairmaster’.”
One of North America’s most popular hikes, the Grouse Grind is a 2.9-kilometre trail that begins at the base of Grouse Mountain and concludes just outside the Peak Chalet. In 2015, the Grind will host a number of exciting on-trail events including Whistler Water One Climb (June 7), Seek the Peak (June 14), Multi-Grind Challenge (June 21) and ClearlyContacts.ca Grouse Grind Challenge (September 13).
For the sixth consecutive year, Grouse Mountain and the Grind community are proud to support the Grind For Kids program which has raised more than $670,000 for the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation since its inception. In 2015, Canadian Pacific (CP) will match every dollar raised via their CP Has Heart initiative. For more information about Grind For Kids, please visit grindforkids.ca.
