Big Thinkers: Seek the Peak Relay
April 29, 2008
April 29th, 2008, North Vancouver, BC -
It’s time to gear up for the 5th Annual Seek the Peak Relay hosted by Grouse Mountain. The event is a 16 km uphill climb for Rethink Breast Cancer and with an elevation gain of 4100 feet, the event is one to feel proud of accomplishing, not just for its difficulty but also for the many people it benefits. Starting on the beaches on Ambleside, runners migrate upwards to the strenuous Grouse Grind® before finally climbing the Peak of Grouse Mountain.
“This race is an excellent metaphor for the battle one can experience in the fight against breast cancer,” says Grouse Mountain General Manager, Michael Cameron. “While the race is challenging, it is open to all ages and abilities in a unique relay format. Seek the Peak is a very personal event for many of the participants. Everyone has a powerful story to tell and reason for coming out. It’s not about a best time, it’s about thinking about how breast cancer touches so many lives, and that something can be done about it. ”
