February 5, 2009, Grouse Mountain, North Vancouver, B.C. – One of the most inspiring and anticipated dates in British Columbian history is now only one year away, and that is cause for extensive celebration at Grouse Mountain. As a kick-off to the one year countdown to the world spotlight shining on Vancouver, Grouse Mountain will keep its winter operation open for more than 48 hours beginning Friday, February 13th and continuing all weekend long.
The adrenaline rush of snow sports go on into the wee hours of the morning as the resort – now in its 82nd downhill season – proves itself to be the true home of Vancouver winter around the clock!
The 48-hour event marks the mountain's momentous decision to remain open 24 hours per day for the duration of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games (17 days), showcasing the finest in snow sports and alpine recreation to international visitors and media from all time zones.
