November 7, 2011, Grouse Mountain - Another season of great hikes and workouts on the Grouse Grind came to an end this morning. Metro Vancouver announced the closure of North America’s most popular trail, the Grouse Grind, for the winter and it will be under a full closure until next spring as a result of slippery conditions and continuing snowfall on the upper sections of the trail.
Thank you to the thousands of avid Grinders who made 2011 another fantastic season on the Grouse Grind. To all those who took part in all of Grouse Mountain events this summer; including Grind for Kids, Seek The Peak and the BMO Grouse Grind Mountain Run, your efforts have helped to raise thousands of dollars in valuable funds for B.C. Children’s Hospital and ReThink Breast Cancer. Don’t forget to join us again next year as we aim even higher with our fundraising efforts.
