Accessibility at Grouse Mountain

At the Base

Upon arrival at the base of Grouse Mountain, wheelchair users should proceed to the upper parking lot (Lot A) where we have designated stalls located in the first row nearest the Skyride and access ramps. For those wheelchair users arriving by Transit, you will proceed along the bus lane, around Guest Services and into Lot A in order to access the Skyride ramps and Ticket Centre.

Guest Services, Starbucks, bicycle racks, and the washrooms are located down a short flight of stairs from Lot A. They are accessed via wheelchair by travelling east around the Blue Skyride terminal and along the bus lane.

Service Dogs

Due to our unique mountain environment which is home to both our resident and indigenous wildlife, we ask that you please introduce your Service Dog and your credentials card to us at Guest Services at the base of the Mountain upon arrival. Upon verification of the credentials card, documentation; the guest will be given a unique “Service Dog” pass. This pass will help to identify you and your dog to our staff and fellow guests in order to provide the best experience possible for all visitors. Unfortunately, Service Dogs must maintain their distance from wildlife and are not able to visit the Grizzly Bear Habitat or Owl Talks.

Summer on Grouse Mountain

A covered walkway leads from the Peak Skyride station into the top floor of the Chalet accessing Altitudes Bistro, The Observatory, the Timber Room and wheelchair accessible washrooms. A paved outdoor ramp descends from the Skyride station to our mountaintop plaza and accesses our paved pathways leading to the Refuge for Endangered Wildlife, Owl Talks and our World-Famous Lumberjack Show. This same outdoor ramp is used for transferring between the top and main floors of the Chalet.

The peak of the Mountain can be accessed by special arrangement by visiting Alpine Guest Services located on the main floor of the Chalet. The Peak Chairlift cannot be accessed by wheelchair users. There are no paved pathways atop the Peak, and while the pathways are well-used and maintained, do keep in mind that it is a mountain environment and rocks, roots and other elements may present a challenge.

Unfortunately due to the nature of our Mountain Ziplines and the hiking involved in transferring between ziplines, we are unable to accommodate wheelchair users.

Winter on Grouse Mountain

Transfer between the Peak Skyride terminal and main floor of the Peak Chalet is accessed by a snow covered ramp. As we understand this can provide some difficulty to those using wheelchairs we are happy to provide assistance - simply visit Guest Services prior to boarding the Skyride. Wheelchair storage can also be provided upon request. Please note that there are no elevators available inside the Chalet.

Those using approved adaptive skiing devices have full access to all of our lifts.
