Snowshoeing is now open! Please check Today on Grouse for the current status of all snowshoe trails.

Escape into the serene beauty of a natural winter playground. Just a short distance from the Peak Chalet, you'll find yourself a world away in our Munday Alpine Snowshoe Park. With four different trails to choose from and a perfect balance of groomed and single track snowshoeing, you will discover something new each time you visit.

Tour the groomed beginner and intermediate snowshoe trails of the Blue Grouse Loop, or head for Dam Mountain - a pristine loop of three main trails that circle Dam Mountain and Thunderbird Ridge. You can find the trails easily with clearly marked signs from the top of Grouse Mountain.

Access to the Grouse Mountain snowshoe trails is included with a Mountain Admission Ticket, Annual Pass or Winter Season Pass.

Grouse Mountain has translated the intensity and accomplishment of the Grouse Grind into a winter experience – The Snowshoe Grind. Located on the mountaintop, The Snowshoe Grind promises to challenge. It's the perfect way to start Grouse Grind hiking season fit and strong, while embracing a snowy winter landscape.

Join us for this new social event and conquer the Snowshoe Grind after dark. Venture into the backcountry at night, make new friends and support a local charity! Each month’s proceeds from this event will be donated to North Shore Rescue. This session is open to all fitness levels and abilities.

family adventure snowshoe tours

This is a great activity for the whole family to get out and explore your local mountain. On this family fun adventure your experienced guide will encourage you to reconnect with nature, explore the alpine environment and learn about the surrounding flora, fauna and culture. Includes snowshoe rentals. No experience necessary.

discovery snowshoe tours

An introductory to the basics of snowshoeing. No experience necessary and beginner fitness levels encouraged. These single session tours introduce you to the basics of snowshoeing including tips and how to be safe in the winter alpine. Your guide will lead you through beautiful quiet trails and you will get a taste of the backcountry. 

ladies snowshoe night

Join us for a magical evening of adventure in the heart of winter’s beauty. This ladies-only snowshoe event invites you to step into the snowy landscape and explore the quiet tranquility of nature after dark. With the glow of the moon above and the crunch of fresh snow beneath your feet, you’ll enjoy a guided snowshoe trek through peaceful trails. Whether you’re an experienced showshoer or a beginner, this evening promises fun, fitness, and the chance to connect with other like-minded women in the great outdoors.

For select dates throughout the winter, explore the mountains after dark. Our snowshoe guides will take you on a journey to their favourite places to explore the night sky. With a perfect balance of City views and mountain wilderness, this snowshoe hike will leave you with a lasting connection with the mountains.

bACKCOUNTRY EXPLORATION snowshoe tOUR

Join us for a two-hour backcountry snowshoe adventure to Thunderbird Ridge where you'll experience the mountain wilderness at night. The trek begins after daylight fades, and the trail leads through snow-covered terrain, quiet forests, and open meadows. With moderate elevation gain, the path steadily climbs toward the ridge, and as you snowshoe down the ridge, you'll be rewarded with views of the surrounding peaks and valleys, bathed in moonlight or starlight. 

Please note: This tour is offered in the nearby backcountry snowshoe trails. Participants are encouraged to bring a backpack with snacks, water, and extra clothing as needed for the tour. Amenities will not be readily available while out on tour.

PRIVATE SNOWSHOE TOURS

Looking for a new way to have fun with your friends or family? Book a private snowshoe tour (minimum of 6 guests per tour). Snowshoe rentals are included and headlamps will be provided if necessary. A Mountain Admission Ticket or valid pass is required for each participant. Private Snowshoe Tours are based on guide availability.

Snowshoe fondue

This experience combines snowshoeing and a scrumptious fondue in an evening of adventure and fun for you and your group. The tour includes snowshoe and headlamp rentals, an experienced and informative guide, and an après-snowshoeing social dining experience with a two-course traditional European fondue spread. The tour begins by meeting your group's snowshoe guide and gearing up with snowshoes and a beginner snowshoeing briefing. You will be guided through the magical and enchanting Light Walk around Blue Grouse Lake. If your group is wanting more of a challenge, your guides can lead your group in to the backcountry and experience the forest lit by headlamps.
