Snowshoeing

Stay fit and have fun this winter in our snowy paradise.

Winter's Fast-Growing Sport

Escape into the serene beauty of a natural winter playground. Just a short distance from the Peak Chalet, you'll find yourself a world away in our Munday Alpine Snowshoe Park. With four different groomed trails to choose from, you'll discover something new each time you visit! Check out our Mountain Map.

Tour the groomed beginner and intermediate snowshoe trails of the Blue Grouse Loop, or head for Dam Mountain - a pristine loop of three main trails that circle Dam Mountain and Thunderbird Ridge. You can find the trails easily with clearly marked signs from the top of Grouse Mountain. Discover why snowshoeing is the fastest growing outdoor winter activity.

Access to our snowshoe trails is included with your Alpine Experience ticket or valid pass. Visit the Current Conditions page for trail hours and up-to-date operational information. Equipment rentals are available from the Fireside Hut, by our Mountaintop Skating Pond.

The Snowshoe Grind

Grouse Mountain has translated the intensity and accomplishment of the Grouse Grind into a winter experience – the Snowshoe Grind. Located mountaintop, the Snowshoe Grind promises to challenge. Starting at the relocated Grouse Grind timer, outside the Chalet adjacent the Skyride ramp and just southwest of the skate pond, the Snowshoe Grind is the perfect way to start Grouse Grind hiking season fit and strong, while embracing a snowy winter landscape.

Grind Timer Program

Track your progress all winter long with the purchase of a Columbia Grind™ Timer, containing a radio frequency chip, from Grouse Mountain (or use your existing Grouse Mountain Summit Seeker Card). Swipe your card at the Grind™ Timer outside the Chalet, and again after completing the trail, and your name and time will appear on the monitor at Alpine Guest Services in the Peak Chalet. Your results may also be printed for you at Alpine Guest Services.
