Our philosophy is to complement the locally based cuisine with diverse traditional inspirations, so we are constantly reworking the list to highlight the best that British Columbia has to offer, to pay homage to the great wine regions of the new world and to introduce our guests to new and exciting areas.Our wine list is designed to encourage discussion, exploration and to provide you with wines that will enhance your dining experience with us. Inside you will find a selection of wines from around the world and some of them will be old friends; hopefully some new friends. Our Sommelier
Brent Fraser, a veteran of more than 15 years in the hospitality and wine business, is currently the Food and Beverage Manager and Head Sommelier for Grouse Mountain where he oversees a 550 selection wine list in the Observatory fine dining restaurant. He holds diplomas from the Wine and Sprit Education Trust (WSET) and the International Sommelier Guild (ISG) and has been invited to sit the rigorous Master Sommelier exam, having passed their Advanced level exam in London, England in July 2008. Brent worked for a number of years in the Niagara wine industry as a Marketing and P.R. specialist where he was also responsible for in-house wine education. Realizing that there’s no substitute for first hand experience, Brent has travelled extensively throughout such great wine countries as France, Italy, Spain, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and the U.S.
