Lift Maintenance Mechanic

One full time position available

Responsibilities:  
  • Under limited supervision, and in accordance with Z-98 safety code, installs, maintains, tests, alters, fabricates, operates and replaces equipment 
  • Examines equipment to troubleshoot and diagnose problems 
  • Maintains repair and maintenance records 
  • Performs routine equipment maintenance to ensure correct operation of equipment 
  • Working at height, conducts maintenance inspection to sheaves, cables, bull wheels, towers of the GMR aerial Skyride and Chair Lifts and equipment 
  • Uses many materials that require a great deal of accuracy: 
    • Synthetic/non-synthetic lubricants 
    • Bearings, bushings, ropes 
    • Precision measuring 
    • Rigging 
    • Power transmissions/diesel engines 
    • Belts, gears, chains, electrical motors, cable, ropes, winches, couplings, clutches, sheaves, industrial materials and composites 
    • General fabrication
Qualifications: 
  • Journeyman Ticket as a Millwright preferred 
  • Welding/fabricating experience required 
  • Experience with tramways and lifts required 
  • Ability to work at heights and lift up to 40 kg
  • Ability to follow directions and work with a team 
  • Ability to adhere to GMR safety policies and guidelines 
  • Ability to work under adverse environmental conditions required
