Starbucks Barista

Mission: This job ensures service standards are met and surpassed by providing customers with prompt, quality coffee selection, purchase, and preparation. Customers and employees will experience a friendly, upbeat and clean atmosphere

Key Responsibilities:

Develops Enthusiastically Satisfied Customers All of the Time
1. Welcomes and connects with every customer to provide excellent customer service. 
2. Discover customer needs and appropriately suggests product with every customer to enhance service and meet sales goals.
3. Assists customers in the selection and purchase of specialty coffee beverages and whole bean sales
4. Responds to customers needs and says thank you to every customer.
5. Maintains customer service area and equipment in a clean and appealing manner.
6. Demonstrates “just say yes” behavior when taking care of customer neneds.

Maintains Quality Store Operations
7. Prepares a variety of customer beverage orders such as espresso drinks and Coffee of the Week to Starbucks standards.
8. Follow store policies and procedures for operational flow at each station.
9. Performs cleaning tasks in accordance with the Duty Rosters and cleaning standards and works as a store team player.
10. Presents oneself professionally and demonstrates clear communication by using Star Skills with all customer and partner interactions.
11. Follows standars for merchandising, stocking, rotating and storing all products.
12. Performs equipment maintenance in accordance with preventive maintenance checklist.

Financial Contribution
13. Follows cash handling and register policies
14. Follows inventory stocking and recording guidelines.

Takes Responsibility to Learn All Aspects of the Barista Position
15. Learns and demonstrates creating the Starbucks Experience.
16. Learns and demonstrates all performance standards by completing Initial Store Training and passing barista certification with a score of 90% or better.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the food service industry preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
