Responsibilities:
- Appling a variety of skills including secretarial, word processing, record keeping, data entry etc.
- Working independently with guidance from F&B Manager & Director
- Answering the Food & Beverage reception phone and responding to a variety of inquiries
- Coordinating Special Events, e.g. Valentines Day, New Years Eve
- Taking reservations for The Observatory Restaurant
- Organizing the food and beverage office and reception area--- includes filing, ordering and inventory of office supplies, maintenance of office equipment such as photocopier etc.
- Assisting the Food and Beverage department when necessary
- Working with the catering department in conjunction with maintenance of weekly banquet contracts and the coordination of site inspections
- Attending Food & Beverage and Catering Meetings, takes notes and distributes them.
- Assisting with payroll and sales/labor reports
- Assisting with HR documentation
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of secondary school
- Minimum one year administrative experience preferably in a sales environment
- Experience handling cash required
- Experience with multi-line phone system is preferred
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to multi task
- Exceptional employee relations skills
- Microsoft Office skills and a Point of Sale system experience preferred
- Keyboard skills of a minimum of 40wpm
- Graphic computer knowledge is an asset, preferably Adobe
- Team Player
- Knowledge of food and beverage operations preferred
- Weekend availability necessary
